Companion Animal Clinic provides top notch veterinary care for your pet, as well, as boarding and grooming services. Routine care is a cornerstone of our practice; our staff of Veterinarians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, groomers and office staff deliver these services with a level of care and attention that humans appreciate.

As graduates of the Veterinary College at Virginia Tech, we pride ourselves on maintaining a strong relationship with the school and readily consult with their experts on difficult cases and when additional expertise is appropriate.

Our veterinary services include:

Dentistry (specialized services also available)
Radiology (specialized services also available)
Specialized diagnostic and surgical services are also available.

Please ask one of our vets to discuss the pros and cons of declawing.

We make appointments for most procedures; please call the office at 552-6800 to schedule. In order to deliver the best care, our vets would like to see your pet prior to the date scheduled for an elective procedure. This helps to ensure that no surprises (unexpected gender or other condition) will interfere with planned procedures.

Our convenient drop-off service allows you to leave your pet with us, to be examined by our vets while you are at work or otherwise engaged. You can get results by phone, or when you pick your pet up later that day.

Of course, preventive care is very important in maintaining your pet's good health. Our comprehensive approach, including vaccinations and flea and tick control, will help avoid serious medical problems. (more)

Microchipping
The Home Again Microchipping System provides a unique identification code, read using a special scanner, for your pet. A microchip is inserted under the skin of the pet's shoulder using a special syringe. The chip is about the size of a grain of rice. You then enroll your pet, registering her unique identification code. Remember to update your address when you move!

Grooming and Boarding
Our staff of groomers provide bathing, haircuts and toenail clipping for dogs and cats. For your convenience, our drop-off service is available for grooming as well.

Our climate-controlled boarding facilities feature indoor runs in three sizes to suit your dog's needs.

Boarded dogs receive outdoor time each day, and personal attention from our staff. The kitty condos provide accommodations that keep even the most finicky feline interested and active. Boarding arrivals and departures may be during office hours and Sunday afternoons; see hours below.

		We Are Part of the Community This is what happens when a UVA fan loses a bet to a Hokie! Companion Animal Clinic is committed to all aspects of top quality pet care. We participate in several community based activities that offer care to animals that may not otherwise receive it. Two of these are: Montgomery County Humane Society's spay program Montgomery County Friends of Animal Care & Control, Inc. Although not offered at our clinic, we appreciate top quality dog training, and feel confident referring clients to a local trainer: Hi-D-Ho Dog Training in Blacksburg, Virginia
